This is my new place of work! Avalon’s Yeongtong Champ campus, which is in the same building as several other hagwons (private institutions). We display our students’ work on the walls, and there is even a large classroom for presentations. They have a computer lab, printers, copiers…it’s so technologically advanced.
If I’d had these resources in Chile, things would’ve been way different.
Coleen Monroe-Knight is a Colorado native who has left a trail of new homes for herself around the world. She's set foot in 30 countries and lived on four continents in the last thirteen years.
Her nomad homes are in Colorado, Chilean Patagonia, France, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, England, China, and Iceland. I’ve been very lucky, but I definitely wanted to put out some positive stories from Hagwons in Korea. The bulk of the stories online appear to be of the horror variety, and mine has been wonderful so far.
