Your host, in her happy place

If you’re here, you probably saw information about Beer School in Skúli – Craft Bar.

On this page, you will find more information about what a Beer School meetup is like and links to my previous work with craft beer. When you decide, “Hell yeah, I want to learn more about beer!” you can sign up using the Google Docs form below.

What is a “Beer School?”

This is a beginner’s guide to tasting, making, and enjoying beer. I focus on craft beer, with a sampling of 4-6 styles that range from very normal to experimental. I’ll also cover the basics of brewing, some history, and beer ingredients.

How long does it take?

This beer seminar takes about three hours. If we really click as a group and people have a lot of questions, it might go longer. You can also stay after and purchase more beers.

When will it be?

13th August and 27th August (Sundays), at 13:00 GMT.

How much does it cost?

It’s 4.900 kr per person. This covers all materials, five craft beer samples, community, and expert knowledge.

Will I get drunk?

Not from the tasters. Honestly, Sunday’s not a great day for drinking until you fall over anyway.

Where can I check that you actually know about beer?

Please see my ‘Beer in Situ’ travel series here, and look up Brewdog Camden (my former place of work and where I earned all my craft beer training). I also hosted a Beer School in Busan, South Korea this year in collaboration with 고릴라 브루잉 – Gorilla Brewing Co.. You can see pictures here.

How do I sign up?

Click the link below and fill in your information. You can also contact me directly. Please note: sign up is limited to the first 15 participants!
